OraPDF is a stored procedure which converts text files or text-only web page to PDF format and sends the resultant output either to a file or to a browser.

OraPDF can be integrated with any Oracle-based application that requires a PDF formatted output from the database. It is pure PL/SQL and does not use or require Oracle Reports to be installed, or any other external or 3rd party product. The interface to OraPDF is a standard PL/SQL procedure call.

OraPDF is typically being used by customers who wish to view text output from Oracle-based systems which is too wide to fit into a conventional browser window (for example, Oracle Applications FSG reports). OraPDF can convert the output dynamically to PDF format, invoking the Adobe Acrobat browser plug-in, and the user has control over the orientation, font point size, font face etc.

This product can be used stand-alone, or integrated with Mail-It. It DOES NOT need Oracle Applications but will run on any Oracle 8i/9i database.

A future enhancement will enable encryption of the resultant PDF file with a user-supplied username and password. This will be useful for generating documents for emailing that cannot be tampered with during transmission.
