Excel-Out
Excel-Out is a concurrent request that transforms queries into MS-Excel files. It works with all versions of Oracle EBS and all versions of MS-Excel.
"The Excel-Out tool gave Philosophy the ability to easily transform discoverer queries into Oracle concurrent requests that are available for users to run and schedule under their particular responsibility. It works well with our version of Oracle EBS (R12).
Rather than spending additional funds for an outside source to create a new report, we simply copy an existing report and update the parameters, if necessary. We use Excel-Out to create concurrent requests that are scheduled to run daily. The MS-Excel output file is emailed to the appropriate user, who simply opens the file directly into excel, resulting in time savings each day.
By using Excel-Out to add concurrent requests, reporting information is now delivered to users without adding additional responsibilities under their username."
